A 16-year-old girl named Alexys Creston had a terrible childhood. From being involved in a car crash that led her to witness her parents' untimely death, to being forced into the orphanage by her relatives, and being separated from her best friend. It's a small world for her though. Despite having travelled the whole world from being a part of the Shadows, a group of mercenaries, she found herself in the presence of her long lost best friend, Richard Sterling, although not under the best of circumstances.

Alex held fast, his eyes never leaving hers, his grip gentle yet unyielding. "Tell me, Angy," he whispered again, his voice low and persuasive. "What has you so tense that you're so bent on getting away from me?" Angy's heart raced, her mind racing with excuses and evasions. Have you ever liked some guy that is popular, attractive and yet annoying, rude, mean at the same time? I'm sure nearly every girl has. Mikasa your typical girl who likes this really hot guy in her class but doesn't have the confidence to confess to him. Typical, isn't it? But don't think that they'll end up falling in love, that's too cliche. Instead it's going to be a whole twist and turn of events for this girl when she meets a boy called Alex whom she 'befriends.' Alex is the whole opposite of who Mikasa likes. Although, she becomes quite close to him, telling him her crush and him encouraging her and helping her out. Will spending time together bring them closer than just friends? A story that is nothing more closer to reality.
