Dear America,

Start getting your shit together. I think next time something about a hate crime against a Muslim crosses the news, I'm going to rip my hair out. I think next time something about a senseless killing of a person whose skin colour isn't white crosses the news, I'm going to break my television. These things are happening because we cannot simply live peacefully with the fact that all human beings are created equal, no matter their color, their appearance, their religion, their accent, their beliefs, whether or not they celebrate Christmas, their gender or their association with agenderness. If their birth certificate says they're a male, but they call themselves female and associate with the female gender, they are female and you have no right to discriminate them. If they are gay, or bisexual, or asexual, you do not tease them for it. If they are black, or tan, or brown, if their eyes are different shaped than yours you do not mock them for it. If their accent makes them pronounce things differently, or they have trouble with certain words, or there are some words they do not know, you do not whisper about them for it. If their religion requires things for them to wear, things to do, rituals to complete, you do not jest.

You accept, you agree, you show a kind interest.
And if that is too fucking hard, get out. You are poison.
Leave.

Sincerely,
An Extremely Aggravated and Extremely Concerned American
