Elsie Jacobson is a 17 year old girl from California.

Aaron Phelps is a 17 year old boy from Indiana.

Aaron's parents are away and he is sent to live in California with the Jacobson family. Aaron doesn't know much about the Jacobson family, just that Mrs. Jacobson is his mother's friend from high school.

Elsie finds out that her family's guest room will be occupied by the son of her mother's friend the day the son arrives. Elsie and her family meet Aaron at the airport.

It becomes Elsie's duty to show Aaron around her town and school. Aaron goes to Elsie's school, meets Elsie's friends, and then what?
