Maya is a small town girl with the voice of a big-time singer, and the night of her brother, Charlie's high school graduation.

Maya convinces him to sneak out to a concert as his graduation present from her. But while driving home from the concert some drunk driver runs through a red light crashing into them landing them in the hospital.

As Maya struggles with the loses she has experienced, she is accepted into the best summer music program in the country.

Following her dreams, she heads to Los Angeles of the summer. Life in the big city is full of surprises.

But with the help of some cool friends, an encouraging teacher, and a super cute boy, this all-American girl is set to have the time of her life.
