In a world where being different was celebrated, that being different was supposed to be normal. The people of Nevania lived like this for hundreds of years. Until the Diviners came. They told the people of Nevania that if everyone was different then different was normal. And that if different was normal than different meant nothing and was nothing. (Confused yet?) So the Diviners created the reaping where a few people were chosen to be made normal, so that the others of Nevania could be different. These are the stories of the few chosen to be normal. The few that went through unspeakable things to be made normal. To give up the hope to create and discover. To live a normal life on Nevania, these few chosen were called Shells because they no longer had any magical abilities.
