On one of the last days of Alison's summer vacation she decides on a night ocean swim.  never did she think one swim could change her life.  Iann just happens to be walking the beach just in time to save Alison.  Their short summer moment is over when Alison announces she's going home the next day until she finds out she's permanently moving there when her mom announces she's engaged to a rich man. She later finds out her new neighbors have a son, Iann. Going to a new school is already tough going to a school with Iann and being his new neighbor makes things more complicated. Everyone is infatuated with Alison, all the guys want her and all the girls want to be her friend.  Then there's Iann being the popular high school boy he is he tries to prove his friends Alison will be an easy target. Only Alison won't let him get to her. At least that's what she tells her self.
