"Even in my own life story I am a background character." Six years of sacrifices and selflessness are apart of Joey Kinsman's past, and several more years are set down in the path of his future. Being the man of the house, he looks after his sister Ophelia and the two twins, Casey and Drew. There is nothing he can't do, from balancing two jobs to grocery shopping and looking after the mother that has put him in this position. But when a car crash slaughters his chance of being able to care for his family, the man of the house learns to feel what it is like to be looked after. When Jackie Heathers, an old High School peer of his, comes along to help, he isn't sure he is willing to accept it. Dedicated to my favorite student teacher, Ms. McDevitt!

Things take an unexpected turn when her ex-boyfriend Jeremy shows up on her doorstep, wanting answers, but Carson is convinced that he was the one who drugged and raped her. And her best friend is involved in a deadly car accident sending Carson over an emotional cliff with only Jeremy there to comfort her. Little does it help that her brother is dating the biggest air-headed blonde at her school who loves making Carson’s life miserable. Can she get over her prejudice’s for Jeremy? And what about Alex who seem to be too good for her, does she really deserve him? And then there’s the memories that seem to be coming back from the night she was drugged… There’s a reason they say you can’t run from you past, and Carson Martino is about to experience it firsthand. A/N First thing I ever wrote. Now you're warned.
