Down Past Dawn

In this destroyed world, Étiennette Iris Desmond survives an attack to her home, leaving both her parents dead and no relatives to go to. She is taken and put in a orphan care system called World's Lambs. During her stay at the World's Lambs Center, she makes several friends. She is later adopted.
She moves into a small protected city within a destroyed world. She likes to escape out a hatch in her room and walk at midnight and wait for dawn. She meets a boy that is part of the rebel group that wants the government to take blame for what has happened. Étiennette Iris Desmond, or Iris for short, learns what really happened to her parents and what really is going on in the government. As Iris, Ivan Courdy, and Oliver Lechosław discover the truth behind this dystopia, they learn the meaning behind life, truth, love, and loss.
