I look up at him, his face nothing but a hazy memory. His head is tilted down towards me and I think about how odd it must be for him too. If we kissed, would we find each other's lips? Would it be as natural as breathing? He's mere inches from me and just the presence of his body is suffocating. I don't even have to see his face to know how well he makes my body react. Goosebumps trickling down my arms, and the hairs on the back of my neck rising like sunflowers facing the sun. It's as if I can really see his face. His features and the looks he gives. It's so familiar, so in-tune with me, that I feel like I've always seen it. I can feel his eyes set on me, my figure under his gaze. I can feel the tension in the air and I'm not even sure if I'm breathing. "That necklace around your neck," he scoffs. "What about it?" I ask, my voice low. "I've seen it every single time I've seen you and it drives me insane. It's the one thing I can see below your face." Something clicks into place for me. The puzzle pieces align, and I feel alive. "Then take it off and put your hand there, I can wear that instead," I grin. __ Scarlett Moore. "I already killed your mother, Cam." As the words left my enemy's mouth like a mocking sneer, I growled under my breath at the mention of my old name. Memories started to boil up that I had been wanting to squash deep into my heart. Bad memories. "As you can guess, I'm here to finish the job." He continued with that ever-present sinister smirk on his face. And in that moment, a sudden burst of confidence just appeared within me. Or blatant stupidity. 'I'll take either one.' I silently admitted to myself. I rolled my eyes at his so-called 'threat', not really intimidated in the least. "Yeah, like that went so well the first time. The first time, you fucked up enough to get caught by the police." I pointed out. "The second time, your grown-ass men got their asses handed to them by two teenagers." I snorted at him. "Your odds aren't looking too good here, Berti." ~•~ Losing her father? Lovely. Getting in a car accident with her aunt, uncle, and cousin and being the sole survivor? Fantastic. Losing her mother because a deranged psychopath holds a grudge even better than The Grinch? Amazing. Being ostracized from her own family save from her paternal grandparents, and getting the blame for her mother's death? Cherry on top of the cake. Having to make sure three idiotic twats don't get themselves killed because they couldn't mind their own bloody business? Bloody hell, that's an entire ice cream cake with ten pounds of gummy bears. ~•~ Join Grace Stanton as she faces her demons and the demons of her past all while trying not to commit murder against her three new friends. Fun times. (First book in the Gilded series) ~•~ [#1 Streetracer - 4/21/21] [#1 Gangs - 9/16/21] [#1 Boxer - 9/12/21] [#1 Fighter - 12/11/21] [#2 Boxing - 9/3/21] [#1 Girlpower - 2/12/21]

"So.. go on a date with me?" I can't stop looking at him. He's just so beautiful. As he always was-just ten years younger. Same brown eyes, same lips, that boyish charm. The only difference is the hint of innocence in his gaze and the curiosity in his expression. No doubt he's surprised by my sudden question. I can't really blame him. His boring, nonchalant classmate of one year has just asked him out after a nice evening together. But I know he'll say yes. He has to. He never said no to me. I can't wait to plan all the amazing, adventurous dates with him, to make him feel special this time-just like he did for me. I'm eager to get to know him all over again. That's when I hear mumbling. "Hmm?" I ask, not hearing him properly. "No. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested. I had a great time today, Anu, but I don't see you that way. I'll have to decline." I can hear my heart breaking. Funny, isn't it? All your life, you think: Okay, this will be my last heartbreak. This guy will be the one. He's going to make it all worth it. And then, suddenly, life throws another failed attempt at love into your bucket. If I can manage to get rejected by my husband of three years, then there probably isn't any hope for me. . . Anu had everything-power, success, and a love so deep it felt unshakable. Three years of marital bliss with Ashwin, the man who was her home, her heart, her forever. Their life was perfect, built with love, laughter, and quiet mornings wrapped in each other's warmth. But in the blink of an eye, everything vanished. She woke up not in their home, but in a college dorm. Not as the woman who ruled boardrooms, but as a twenty-year-old student. And then she saw him. Ashwin. But this Ashwin didn't know her. He wasn't her devoted husband. He was a stranger, a boy still finding his way in life. She had been thrust back into his past, into a time where she didn't belong. And the most terrifying question of all- Would he still fall in love with her?

The world has chewed up and spit out Eleanor Robinson again and again. It began with her parents, one taken by a tragedy, one addicted to horrific drugs, and a brother who's too boozed out to know if she's alive or dead. Alone in the world, Ellie isn't exactly sure of how life works, of how anything works, really. The only two people she has that even remotely understand are Sebastian and Scarlett, a pair of siblings that remind her so much of her own family, it's hard to be around them sometimes. When the trio finally move in together after being friends for almost three years, they end up closer than ever. But the move brings along another problem into Ellie's life. Cole Everett is a fighter. From the moment he was cast aside by his family, he's had to fight for scraps at the orphanage dinner table, fight for a spot in the light of his foster family's eyes, and fight for the love of his adoptive parents. It seemed like he never won when it came to personal battles, but in the ring... In the ring, he owned the world. Years and years of the world kicking Cole's ass has shaped him into the fighter Ellie and everyone else sees him as. But the world has also shaped Ellie, and the sweet, heavy-hearted girl paints on a façade that seems only Cole can break through. As the pair attempt to navigate a decent enough relationship to be in the same room as one another without going for the throat, the people around them float between blurred lines of friend or foe. Hearts clash, past enemies arise, and the pair's hearts hang in the balance of it all.

"You've become so damaged that when someone tries to give you what you deserve, you have no idea how to respond." He says taking a step closer to me. I frown. "So, it's my fault? That I'm to blame for being damaged?" "No, it's not your fault at all, but it is your fault for believing you don't deserve better. That you don't deserve to be happy." Nathan looks away from my eyes, inhaling. "Maybe the little things that you consider your weakness are actually the things that people treasure most about you. Maybe you hate that you care too much...or that you wear your heart on your sleeve. But seriously, some people think that's the best damn thing about you. We all have different little things that make up who we are, we don't need to change those things, but we can choose who we share them with." "What are you saying?" Now so close to me, he places his palm on my cheek, and whispers. "You're treasure, Madison...I hope you realize that." ________ Nathan Lane a Billionaire heartthrob who has everything in his life. Money, fame and power. Except he keeps some secrets of his own. This persona he puts on for the world to see is not what he truly wants. Now she has to pick herself up from the ashes, but she doesn't believe she deserves forgiveness. She doesn't know what to do, until she meets Nathan Lane in a very not so sober way.
