Kestrel Stibbons is part of an extinct race and trying to keep her head down and work her way up through Starfleet . . . but being friends with Jim Kirk means life is never easy, or boring . . . especially when a futuristic Romulan ship declares war . . .


(This is a Star Trek fanfiction based in the first film directed by J.J. Abrams. I will hopefully do an 'Into Darkness' fanfic eventually but I though it best to begin at the beginning. I don't own any of the characters or the storyline (( I own Kez but that's about it)) Please read, enjoy and leave a comment about what you think!)

Strange opponents are faced, and the fate of Earth hangs in the balance of the outcome of the Federation's battle with fearsome creatures found in uncharted deep space. If you thought exploring deep space was comfy-cozy padded shuttles flying around the moon hundreds of times, you're wrong. This is all-out war, and there's no escaping some fighting. Whether it be hand-to-hand combat or warfare between two starships in deep space, that's for the enemy to decide. I'm a Starfleet officer, and I'm ready for anything.

Then he's picked up by Sandy Reid, Star Fleet Medical Officer, also not in a good way. Treated to some of the good meds, and dragged off to a Star Fleet queer party, he's having an eventful day, and war. Of course, in the meantime he's been presumed dead. So it's a bit of a surprise to his old school pash, Vulcan officer Ralph Lanyon, when he turns up onboard... Notes: Basically a Harlequinny novelette, a serialized woman's weekly magazine romance - with added Vulcans. I really feel that there ought to be a special warning for that. In addition to copious amounts of Star Trek and particularly Vulcans, you will also find a lot of Ursula le Guin's Hainish Federation/Cycle, a bit of Firefly and some Left Hand of Darkness. A little bit of Firefly in my life, a little bit of Ursula by my side... Because, this is important, ALL THE FUTURE SF WORLDS ALL TOGETHER ALL THE TIME. The warnings I have included are not strictly applicable but used due to discussion of the issues involved. In the course of research, I must note that I discovered that a villanelle is also known as a villanesque, which, huh, pretty wonderful huh? Now, Brhams has his own ship: The prototype USS Atlas. The whole crew of the Sovereign is also along for the ride. His first mission seemed simple: Investigate some missing Federation science vessels. Little does Captain Brahms know he's going face-first into a hell storm, and it will take all of his wits, skills, and luck, to survive. He didn't know who I was until they caught me, stealing. They grabbed me, told me I couldn't talk. Then, they dragged me all the way to some sort of jail cell and threw me in it, then they slammed the door and punched in a code that activated a lock. I waited what felt like years till he arrived with a doctor and a guy that looked like an elf. I sat their in the cell, on a bench that was connected to the wall. I stared at the floor until the doctor cleared his throat. I looked up at the doctor. My left eye was swollen and purple. I can't remember anything, all I remember was, I was in this building next to a crystal, passed out, and these men were grabbing me, and they put me In this cell. I couldn't hear what the doctor was saying, my vision was going black, but before I passed out, I saw him standing there. He looked older than me, he had brown hair, and his eyes were so blue! He looked familiar to me. Then it hit me, his name was Kirk, or was it Jim? But all I could get out of my mouth before I passed out was, "help". ⭐️ BOOK 1 OF 2 ⭐️ __________________________________ (This is a mix with Star Trek into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond. Some of the parts are from one of those movies, some are made up by me.) (Some parts from those movies are skipped in this book. Also, this book has "into darkness" in the future if Khan was to escape and bring havoc again. If that makes any sense ?)
