Merlin is overjoyed when he sees a girl he knew (and loves) from his home (Ealdor) in Camelot, but the joy comes at a price. Lynnette the girl tells him that Ealdor was attacked by Saxons. After hearing that his mother is alright, he resumes his life as he normally would, but little does he know that Lynnette isn't the girl he once knew and fell in love with. She is working with Morgana to destroy Camelot. When Lynnette is caught sending messages to Morgana, she is taken to jail. Merlin is upset, and confused. He tells Arthur that he loves Lynnette, but Arthur stays resolute. Merlin can't watch the girl he loves die, but he can't do anything about it either.
