Tris' memory is spared due to her divergence but no one knows. She will have to escape the city with the ones she loves in order to create a lasting future for her and her child. In their years of growing up in peace, tranquillity, and hard work, Natalie and her eleven minute older brother made it clear to their parents, and nearly every other Amity member, that they just did not belong. The abundance of roughhousing, name-calling and slight sibling rivalry gave their parents a good idea of which faction their children may choose when the time came. Luckily, over the years the two of them came together, and by the time they were just about seventeen and inseparable, their choosing day arrived.
