I always knew I was different. As much as I tried to hide it, other people started noticing too... Skylar is different. She only has one friend at school and is labelled the 'freak' by most people. She has strange dreams of another world at night that feel like premonitions to her, dreams of a boy, intimidating, yet welcoming at the same time, but who can she tell? The thing that scares her the most? These dreams make her feel like they belong. They feel like home. What if all that were true? What if she came from another world, so like ours, yet so different at the same time, where she just might find friendship and love? What if she found out that she wasn't human, she had powers, and came from a land where a war is on the horizon? A war over her. My name's Skylar. This is my story.

Different- 1) Not the same as another, or each other; Unlike in nature, form or quality. I thought being different was a good thing. You know, the whole 'Im not conforming to you' deal. I thought I was unique, my own person. Apparently not everyone thinks being different is a good thing. They're afraid of my difference. Maybe it's my long white hair? Or my glowing silver eyes? Or it could just be because.... I'm not fully human. I tried to keep it a secret. Really I did. I knew the consequence of something like this getting out. So my secret stayed a secret. All until the day the little girl walked out in front of the truck.
