This is my story for my English assessment. this copy is before the draft. I have included the final afterwards.
We are learning about fantasy writing and our word limit is 400-600
Let me just tell you this assessment of Fantasy writing was hard with such a minuscule word limit, i honestly like to have a bigger word capacity because as you can see, the events are really squished and it ruins the story (in my opinion).
BTW- i know i am not the best writer so please don't criticize my work, negatively.

When I was little, my mother used to tell me stories about an ancient world that contained mystical and strange creatures -created by the gods it was supposed to divide the humans and the creatures. Her stories were mostly about brave Guardians that had the obligation of protecting the other world. This world was to be called the Portal World. As I grew up in difficult conditions I dismissed all those ideas out of my head. Tales are for children and nothing of it was true. Or so I thought. Until the day the guy I hated the most saved me from imminent death. *** Deep in my being an unbearable anger scattered itself through my body. I clenched my fists. A violent jerk started building up to my vocal cords. I gritted my teeth to keep it under control but in vain my lips began to move. "My life is not an Illusion!" The small crowd still gathered inside the café went silent as they all turned to see what was happening. I bit my lip in embarrassment. Jack slowly turned around and instantly met my eyes. It Was Just For Fun (BoyXBoy)
Jayden was never meant to be a prince, but when he gets adopted by the king and queen, he has to prepare himself for the challenges ahead. Luckily, his personal knight, Kam, is there to help him out. Together, they will have to deal with mages, fight dragons, and face windigos. Follow them as they learn more about each other, and learn to look past their deferences to accomplish their goals and save the kingdom. Firstly, a huge thanks to my friend Sophia (@sopheyyis or @B1ashe) for drawing the cover. She is an amazing artist, go follow her on instagram and tik toc because she is the best. Warning: this is not for kids or people sensitive to triggers. I tend to write on the dark side, just so you know. There will be no smut, but there will be mentions of sex, abuse, abandonment, a little bit of swearing and this list could be updated as the story goes on. I usually don't write romance, but I want to get better at it, so here we go... About updates, I wish I could say I will be posting at least once a day but I know that won't be true because I'm currently editing my book that I am publishing this summer (2020) and this story is more of just a de-stressor (is that a word) so the grammar and writing, especially the tense (it will most likely flip between present and past tense, just pretend it is all the same) might not be perfect, but I just felt like writing it. "Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Complete
