This is my story for my English assessment. this copy is before the draft. I have included the final afterwards. 
We are learning about fantasy writing and our word limit is 400-600
Let me just tell you  this assessment of Fantasy writing was hard with such a minuscule word limit, i honestly like to have a bigger word capacity because as you can see, the events are really squished and it ruins the story (in my opinion).

BTW- i know i am not the best writer so please don't criticize my work, negatively.

I've always been told I have a very active and creative imagination and I should use that i it a like and follow for more chapters to come. Please feel free to point out any grammatical errors you find that I may have missed as I'm constantly editing the story to make it better. *If any names in my story are that of real world people it's completely coincidental, I use a random name generator, which creates countless names, to help with the naming of some of my characters.

Plot line is very similar, I just decided to take a character's development through another stage that changes their dialogue and POV a bit. "The world around her swam with mottled light. How long had she been fighting?" So...in sixth grade we took this computer-skills class. Our final test was to write a short story in Microsoft Word. My story ended up fleshing out into the trilogy I am working on and planning to publish at somepoint in my life, but I realized how incredible my writing skill has improved between just the two or three years. So, I decided to re-write the original sequence of a short story, same plot and characters, just with current skill. Comments and feedback are appreciated, please enjoy!

Jayden was never meant to be a prince, but when he gets adopted by the king and queen, he has to prepare himself for the challenges ahead. Luckily, his personal knight, Kam, is there to help him out. Together, they will have to deal with mages, fight dragons, and face windigos. Follow them as they learn more about each other, and learn to look past their deferences to accomplish their goals and save the kingdom. Firstly, a huge thanks to my friend Sophia (@sopheyyis or @B1ashe) for drawing the cover. She is an amazing artist, go follow her on instagram and tik toc because she is the best. Warning: this is not for kids or people sensitive to triggers. I tend to write on the dark side, just so you know. There will be no smut, but there will be mentions of sex, abuse, abandonment, a little bit of swearing and this list could be updated as the story goes on. I usually don't write romance, but I want to get better at it, so here we go... About updates, I wish I could say I will be posting at least once a day but I know that won't be true because I'm currently editing my book that I am publishing this summer (2020) and this story is more of just a de-stressor (is that a word) so the grammar and writing, especially the tense (it will most likely flip between present and past tense, just pretend it is all the same) might not be perfect, but I just felt like writing it. Her stories were mostly about brave Guardians that had the obligation of protecting the other world. This world was to be called the Portal World. As I grew up in difficult conditions I dismissed all those ideas out of my head. Tales are for children and nothing of it was true. Or so I thought. Until the day the guy I hated the most saved me from imminent death. *** Deep in my being an unbearable anger scattered itself through my body. I clenched my fists. A violent jerk started building up to my vocal cords. I gritted my teeth to keep it under control but in vain my lips began to move. "My life is not an Illusion!" The small crowd still gathered inside the café went silent as they all turned to see what was happening. I bit my lip in embarrassment. Jack slowly turned around and instantly met my eyes. "You'd be surprised", he stated with a disturbing twinkle in his eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for stopping at this book. I've put it through the process of editing it and it might take a while but I'll try to get it done as soon as possible.

This is my challenge to myself to get better and more consistent at writing daily. Rules I will upload a part to a story every day. Some stories will be shorter than others and some may continue over multiple days, but I will upload everyday, no matter the quality. Consistency over perfection.
