Tris thought she would go home for a quick visit after being convinced by her brother. More like begged and guilted.
Not a few days there and her parents have the flu. At least that would get them off her back for being gay and an EMT. Such disapproving parents.
Little does Tris know that flu carries a strain that will turn half of Los Angeles into zombies.
Now, after surviving a zombie attack, bitten, she wakes up still herself. Except, something's changed. She's different and it scares her.
Only thing she can focus on is getting her brother out of Los Angeles alive.
