Sydney: I suffer from panic attacks and I have a stuttering disorder. I get seisures that I can't control. I do NOT understand the "touchy feely" type of people, but I am very intelligent. It is lonely, but for me, it is the ideal life style, until this summer. Josh: I'm always categorized as "the star quarterback", "the most popular guy in school", or "the guy who screws with any girl he wants". Even my own parents don't understand anymore. Matt threw the football. It went long. I chased after it, my eyes focused on the ball. Suddenly I collided with something. Or someone. I turned around. I looked down. And I knew I was in love. And I saw the most precious person on earth. When Sydney and Josh first meet, the world turns upside down for both of them. Sydney finally finds someone she can be with and Josh finally finds a girl that he believes he can settle down with. When problems start happening with his grandpa's company, both of them are knocked off of the track of their relationship and into the real world.

I stare at Matt's face as he looks down, concentrating on the game. I can tell he's so angry. He's holding it in his jaw, he's clenching his teeth. He's up in his head and I don't know what's going on up there but I just know it's not good. Even if I get him back out now, I know that he's going to overthink everything later tonight. "Matty, it's ok." I whisper. He immediately looks up and finds my eyes. His blue eyes are bluer than normal. Impossibly blue. Not even a gray blue. But a pure, brilliant blue. "It's not ok, Rach. I fucking hate him." His swear catches me off guard a bit. But my eye contact doesn't waver. "Thank you." "You're welcome." My favorite color immediately changes to blue. --------------- Two childhood friends have spent a lifetime battling demons. Will life ever give them a break?
