Evette had always been aware of her ability to somehow attract bad luck and strange circumstances and tried her best to hide that fact by being as a nineteen year old female could be during thme Victorian Era. But alas, her stigma proved to be stronger than her feminine will and placed her in a "ball" of some sorts and drunk the moment her lips touched her cup.
But, against all odds, she was saved with the help of a angelic stranger and brought back to his mansion. Half convinced that something more than just sleeping took place in his bedroom that she woke up in, she's stays when he requests it of her to find out more about this mysterious man who would take in a living bad luck charm and claim to her that she was more lucky than she thought.

Troubled.
Eve is 16 years old. She has normal friends and normal teenage habits. She didn't sneak out or smoke anything. She cussed sometimes and had a guy best friend she did secret things with. Her parents are Catholic, so they see her normal teen behavior as acting out beyond reason and continuously look for somewhere she can be 'fixed'. Her therapist suggested a place that looked like camp. Two strangers come get her in the middle of the night and bring her to the worst place she has ever been to in her life. When she comes back to live with her best friend, she is nothing like she was when she left, but he promised he'd wait for her.

"Well, why DO you want me here?" He sits back in his seat, and takes a breath as if trying to figure out how to tell me something. He finally says, "I'm lonely here in the lighthouse. And even though there's and unlock button, it only lets others in- it doesn't let me out. So I couldn't be with anyone going out, but if I let someone in..." he pauses, and smiles. "And then I saw you on the screen the first day I searched. I don't think it was a coincidence that I searched at random and found you. I think it was fate, Claire." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When Claire follows a dangerous dare to break into the 'abandoned lighthouse', she finds that it's not so abandoned, after all. It turns out that the owner, teenage Francis, is trapped in the lighthouse by a strong magic, and though he has everything he could ever want, he's lonely. Claire, now trapped inside, as well, starts to develop feelings for the lighthouse keeper... PLEASE NOTE: I wrote this story when I was twelve, and it hasn't been edited. Loosely based on the folklore of seductive water sprites, particularly the Vila (a Central European version of Rusalka). Written for @AfterDark's "Mirror, Mirror" contest (Mar 2020) -'Mysterious Ways'. A young woman wakes in the wrong version of her bedroom. Or is it so wrong after all? ('You wake in a strange place, possibly as someone else.') -'The Listeners'. Morial and her fellow Spirit Listeners work hard to maintain the balance between nature and mortals; until, one Summer, Morial is accused of upsetting that balance herself. ("I know what you did last summer". The prompt features as paragraph nine in my story.) -'Between the (Spread)Sheets'. An accountant and a trader play cat-and-mouse in a City firm. (@Crime's 'Deceptive Detective' Aug 2020: one criminal goes undercover to expose or be exposed by another.) -'The Unexpected Message'. A missed phone call proves momentous for a young art historian. (@AmbassadorsUK/@Fanatsy/@WattpadFairytales's 'Underground Tales' contest Nov 2020: pick a Tube station - King's Cross/Angel/Seven Sisters/Knightsbridge - and imagine what lies below which is connected with the name. I chose Angel.) The only real thing in this story is the Museum of London (which has an excellent Roman gallery, btw); any coincidence with real heritage experts - or indeed the unrealistic probability of such a find - is my fault. -'Cyclopean Arches'. "Because you're not going to shoot me," Gabriel replied, noting that she still had the safety on. "I bet you've never shot anything in your life." She studied his gun with a smile. "Maybe you're right," she replied. Then she pointed the gun back at him, taking off the safety and cocking it. "Are you willing to bet your life on it?" she asked him coolly. *** He didn't know anything about her - her name, age, even what she looked like. He only knew it was his job to kill her. But when Gabriel comes face to face with his latest target, he finds himself completely mesmerized and can't pull the trigger. Left with few viable options, he decides to kidnap her. Unfortunately for him, she's not willing to come quietly. Instead, their encounter sets off an intense game of cat and mouse, unraveling Gabriel's entire world in the process.Complete

'Jax smiles again as a blush creeps over him making his cheeks a soft shade of pink and nods to my other hand. "It looks like a good read." Confused I look down and realise I'm still holding my book. Oh for the love of marshmallows why couldn't I have picked any other book to read on this flight. Embarrassment washes over me and I hold my head high as I try to muster a reply. "It is indeed." Wow Dani, witty reply, my inner me smacks herself in the head again for what seems like the 100th time today. But I guess when your holding a book titled "Nailed" with what can only be described as a very interesting positioned couple on the front it's just not your freaking day.' Photographer Dani Harris is taking a break from life. Shes travelling back to her childhood home in Hawaii for a bit of R&R. During the flight she meets Jax, a Greek God looking man who sets her skin on fire and heat straight to other places. Exchanging numbers they part after the flight, where she bumps into another man who has her questioning what the hell they put in the water here now that is breeding men who look this stunning. Griffin is a detective in Hawaiian PD, and has somehow been wrangled to pick up his partners sister and entertain her while he follows up on a lead. He's heard stories over the years about the sister but never imagined this gorgeous women standing in front of him squinting at his makeshift sign to be her. She knocks him completely off his feet and he knows that the beating her brother will certainly give him for his very inappropriate thoughts may just be freaking worth it. Dani finds herself torn between two men, but when something is revealed about Jax she must choose which is really in her heart and which is just using her......
