It is a virus program that has evolved into a dangerous entity which inhabits and controls the Supercomputer that holds the virtual world of Lyoko. By activating Towers, XANA takes actions and launches attacks in the real world, and can program monsters, alterations, and traps on Lyoko to fight its enemies. 

After its supposed destruction, XANA managed to miraculously revive itself through infecting the unknown Cortex Replika, becoming even stronger and more crafty than before in Code Lyoko: Evolution.All Rights Reserved

I get myself into the crazy virtual world of Code Lyoko. I always would imagine I was in Code Lyoko when I was a kid and now I can write my own story to make you guys cry, but also smile at the greatness of my mind. This may leave some people pissed at me because of what I want to do with this story, but your all going to have to deal with it. This somehow has turned into a love story while me writing it, I don't know how that happened, but I promise something will happen in the end that will make everything change.
