To what extend are you willing to go to help out a friend?
It couldn't be as far as these two could it?

"You don't have to do this?" She watched as he put on his suit, it was new and not at all cheap,"We can stop everything if you say the word."
"I know," was his reply and he tied his shoes. He was frustrating her.
"I mean, you don't have to act like a hero every single damn time you see someone in distress!" She reached her limit.
Why did she have to say anything? Why did he agree? Why was she backing out know while he wasn't?
He sighed and walked towards her. Seeing her face, thankfully without make-up, tear-stained almost made him give in but he didn't. Instead he enveloped her in a hug, a great big warm hug just like when they're kids, "I know you're not lying and I won't back out. I'm not doing this because I want to be a hero. I'm doing this because I want to help out someone who's very dear to me." He smiled reassuringly.
She could only sob,"This isn't it right!" It hurt her to be so desperate like this, but wasn't she already desperate? Wasn't that the reason she had asked Alfred to marry her?
"No, it isn't," He agreed,"but I'm just as desperate as you."
