Western Poland.

Three very different people are at the start of their individual, life-changing journeys.

Anja Köhler, the daughter of a high-ranking Nazi official and proud German citizen, is slightly apprehensive about moving to Finland with her family. Blind to the true situation of a now-crumbling Germany, she doesn't quite understand the reasons behind why they're leaving in the first place.

Leib Abramovich, an unofficially-declared Jewish orphan living under the alias Adolf Eilert, nervously counts the seconds between now and the long road to freedom in neutral Sweden. Traveling alone by train, he is full of worry as to what his fate may be if his fellow passengers find out who he truly is.

Józef Drzyzga, the revenge-driven son of a once-prestigious Polish politician, tentatively works to destroy Germany's lifeline of supplies in hopes of winning his country back once and for all. He's been tightly held under Germany's grasp for long enough, and without his sacrifice, he knows that the chances of seeing his family again are very slim.

Three different people,
Three different perspectives,
Three different stories.

One accident pulls them all together.

Piano keys were her childhood, but the grasp of a pistol was her reality. Polish SOE Agent, Natia Filipska, has lurked among the rubble and the shadows of her occupied-Warsaw for years, ever since the war started and ripped her from the life that had guaranteed happiness and opportunity. The SOE took her in, as well as her two siblings, Klimeck and Ryzshard, arming them with a fighting spirit, and a chance at survival, at a life where they could avenge the ones that were taken. Being apart of the Cichociemni came next, Elite Polish Paratroopers, and it was their ticket home. Ever since her feet had then touched the ground, she had been fighting with her home and her people - the Polish Home Army. The Warsaw Uprising got her captured, and then being on the run nearly got her killed - her only ally was the pistol at her side. The Dutch Resistance of Eindhoven, Holland housed her, but it would never be her home. Upon liberation though, her path crossed with an Airborne Infantry - the 101st Airborne Division - the Screaming Eagles - American men. To ensure her safety back to Warsaw, Poland and her family, Easy Company and their men might be her only hope. But hope was lost long ago. ------------------------- " Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too...." - Landslide, Fleetwood Mac ---------- mature themes are held within the context of this story that may be triggering to some people: death, smoking, alcohol, killings, and severe depression, along with mental health issues. --------- band of brothers + oc's { October 2nd 2020 } UPDATES BEGIN - Fridays starting 10 - 2 - 20 started: 7/4/20 ended: 3/15/23 ------------------------ NEW COVER!!! done by ME!!! credits on words by @swedeandspicy

The Cuckoo's Song

53 parts Complete Mature

'How could a God that inspired something as beautiful as this song also inspire people to rob her of the only person she had left? It made no sense to her. No higher power did. The comfort of an ultimate divine being had been ripped from her long ago, and the past few years had only confirmed that even if there was a God, she would hate him anyway. Yet music had always lifted her in this way, and it was difficult not to feel its power now. Tears welled in her eyes as she thought back to the last time she had heard anything like it. It had been Christmas eve; the night she had made herself a silent promise to reunite with her best friend and the man she loved. It was hopeless now. Anna turned and leant against the cold wall, sliding to a crumpled heap on the ground. Pulling her knees to her chest, she let the tears come. She felt so desperately alone. Her dream of Karl had been right. All she had ahead of her was a lonely future. Who could she turn to now?'
