After her parents died, a five-year-old Cadence Garnett was taken into her uncle's care, which is probably one of the worst ideas in human existence. Ever since that day, Cadence has been beaten by her terrible uncle, and her trust and compassion has gone down the drain. Now Cadence is seventeen and still enduring the horrors of her uncle. She firmly believes nothing is good anymore.

Daniel Weiss is an eighteen-year-old delinquent who loves doing anything illegal. He plays girls all the time, and he has no feelings for anyone. He also happens to be the new kid at Cadence's high school.
