Kirsten Taylor doesn't speak. She is what people call a selective mute. That's because she's been silent ever since she's been a sophomore, only speaking for special reasons.

Now one year later, and a junior, her mom and brother has given up hope on trying to help her and she likes it like that.

In school she gets picked on and bullied but she doesn't say anything at them or tell anybody. She hides in the shadows and has good grades.

But when she bumps into the bad boy of the school her life takes a huge turn.
