Lucy Heartfilia has been on the run for two years, moving constantly from place to place, trying to stay under the radar. But doing so is becoming increasingly hard as the reward for finding her increases exponentially. Her father is getting desperate. But Lucy doesn't want to go back. She doesn't want to be married to someone she barely even knows.

Natsu was abandoned by his father when he was very young, leaving Natsu under the care of his ill mother. She often told him stories about how his father was an angel, and how he didn't want to leave them, but he had to. So Natsu grew up believing the words his mother told him, and when she was on her death bed, he made a promise to her that he would one day find his father.
