Lovely Ali is a wanderer. In LA on her own, she is found by men and women who love her—for awhile—but never for long enough. The only one who never leaves is an acrobat named Michael who watches Ali with sad eyes. But before she can recognize who she is and what she already has, Ali must search deep within the darkest parts of herself. This short story from Francesca Lia Block, acclaimed author of the upcoming LOVE IN THE TIME OF GLOBAL WARMING, pays homage to a lost girl on a quest for love and home.

Reverie

"The quietest storms are the hardest to escape" Dear Readers, This novel is near and dear to my heart for a multitude of reasons. It follows Lia, a girl who finds herself entangled in a web of dangerous situations. A stalker ex boyfriend, and a new love interest to whom she is connected in unexpected ways, Lia is doing her best to navigate everyday life. As it turns out a stalker may be more than just a stalker and have deeper connections and intentions than anyone feared. This story is a culmination of experiences perhaps not directly derived from personal happenings but certainly driven from emotions I have personally experienced and have had for closest to me experience. With that said, a trigger warning must be placed on this story. SA, DV, and general violence. Please read at your own risk. And thank you to anyone who does.
