If Josh remembered, this whole bad saga would go away. Jenna's death, Tyler's moving to the nursing home, Josh not remembering. It would all go away if Josh remembered. If he said those four words, Tyler's depressing life would disappear, unseen. If Josh just said, "Oh yeah, I remember", maybe Tyler wouldn't be suicidal anymore.
