What remains of the human race has migrated to the planet Ceren of the Andromeda Galaxy following a nuclear war that eradicated all inhabitable places on Earth, living amongst twelve other species of aliens. Several decades into humans - adapted later into Cerens - becoming a part of their solar system, conflict arose within the thirteen planets, pitting the Titans against the rest of the galaxy in a long, violent Great War that would eventually end in the imprisonment of almost all Titans, and a new Andromedian Council to be created in order to prevent and subside future conflicts to avoid such a destructive battle from happening again. Reluctant to be burdened with the responsibility of preventing a second Great War, Mars accepts the role of leading a new rendition of the Life Alliance in hopes of uniting the former members to prepare for the threat of attack by the Titans- and finding out more about her father's disappearance.

Ezra thought his grades would get him posted to a place in the Navy that reflected his ability, something like First Fleet, the Raiding Nine, or even Home Guard. Humanity's enemy the Preshk where attacking more often and Ezra wanted to be contributing directly to the war effort. Instead he got put on a Scout ship with just one other soul and sent on a five month mission out into deep space. The mission quickly becomes more than the young commander could have ever expected and the fate of humanity lies in how fast he can return back to humanity. This short story is just over 18,000 words and contains sexual content between two men, so If that's not your cup of tea.. don't read :) This is my first attempt at something like this, so feedback is welcome, though be nice :)
