Birth of Jack is the first book in the series, The Tale of The Black Assassin. It is a story about a man named Jack Flint Blakes. Jack's father was brought home in a coffin when he was only seven, his mother commits suicide and Jack goes to live with Eddard Brinkly, an old family friend. One day Eddard dies in a hunting accident and Jack joins the Royal Military. Whilst there he discovers the King he served was involved in the murder of his Father.
