Pride Disguised as Shame: Queer Stories from the Western World stands as a collection of short stories set in Central America and Europe in which the characters discover, explore, struggle, and conquer their sexual identities while they battle with the stigmas of their historical reality and geographical location. Every story is set to take the reader into a different stage of acceptance of sexual diversity, in which characters are confronted with shame or defied to stand with pride. The settings include: San José (Costa Rica,) Panama City, Mexico City, London, Edinburgh, and some landscapes of the character's psylochogical reality. Divided in five sections "The Experimentalist," "The Ashamed," " The Heartbreaker and the Heartbroken," "The Proud," and the "Soliloquist," Pride Disguised as Shame aims to connect with readers who empathize with the many stages of self discovery through queer sexuality.
