Mattie O'Reilly lives and breathes soccer. With her junior year rapidly approaching, she's preparing for a long stretch of aggressive opponents, tough classes, and too many college showcases.

What may have been a smooth-sailing school year takes an unexpected turn when Mattie meets Casey Keller, an outstanding defender who's recently moved from a rival school. As the two girls grow close, it becomes clear to Mattie that soccer isn't the only game she'll have to play.
