Peyton Marshall is North Lake Prep’s golden girl. She has the grades, the social status, the looks…the only thing she doesn’t have is the money to pay for college. She fears that her hopes of becoming a successful, college-bound girl are squandered, until she discovers that whoever wins North Lake Prep’s homecoming queen will receive a massive scholarship fund to use for college. However, due to social politics in NLP, the homecoming king and queen have always been a couple. Can Peyton hang onto her brainless quarterback boyfriend until November’s dance? She expects her senior year in the small town of Branton, Georgia to be a breeze. Yet, the constant presence of Jamie, the cute, new girl from Chicago, seems to throw a wrench in her plan. As the familiar tensions and stress of high school grow, Peyton finds herself face to face with a challenge she can't resist. A mural competition that grants the winning school's art department twenty-thousand dollars.
