Set in the depression-era town of Castle Gate. Mr. Ribaldi, a secretive, rich man with a marred face and a black temper, buys an old, abandoned mansion. Bonnie Nelson, a young girl aspiring to be a singer, works for him every day after school to ensure that her family is not evicted. After hearing his lover, a princess, sing, Bonnie is entranced by him. She wonders, "How can anyone so beautiful love someone so ugly?" After learning that he taught the princess to sing, Bonnie asks for him to teach her. Meanwhile, somebody is turning the town upside down, by shutting down the stores and evicting people, but it isn't Ribaldi. What's going on in this little town?
Based on the movie Rigoletto by Feature Films for Families, this is an adaption of the novel they could've created. Because this is only a movie and I would love to read a novel about it, I'm creating it.
