Light foot steps advance towards the door, and I froze as the steady, 'thump, thump, thump,' headed closer and closer towards me. My body paralyzed, breathing shallow, I turn my head. The sound stops directly in front of the door, not making any movement, not a sound. Suddenly, the doorknob began to shake violently, the rattling sliced through the air in terrifying intervals as she desperately tried to open it...  Silence...

It's filled with suspense and it constantly makes you want more! ••• I have never had much luck in my life. I've always had to fend for myself. My moms a junkie and my dad uses a girl every night. I was recently kicked out of my house because I wasn't able to pay rent. I had to find a job to be able to support myself and find a different shelter, I wouldn't have to see my mother everyday. I found this cute little apartment, it would be perfect for me. I couldn't afford it yet. I was walking down the street today and I saw a Help WANTED sign "night guard wanted for Circus babies pizzeria" It's very vague and subtle, I've heard about night guards gone missing over the news recently. I should probably take precaution, but instead I ring them up. They need me as soon as possible and I'm booked to start in a week. New life, new job, new experiences, here I come.

It was a binding talisman - one of the many that had been strung across the door. And it had broken when the door had swung open. Dread seeped into my heart as I gasped out loud, a chill coming over me. I swallowed, breathing irregular, as I kept my eyes glued to the wooden floor. A shadow had crept up in front of me, belonging to the one thing that I had seen inside of the room just seconds before. The drummer boy lifted my chin up. When I met his eyes, I was paralyzed. The brown color was the same, but where that thin smile once was replaced by one that stretched wide, splitting his entire face in half. I stared at the sharp daggers of each tooth, legs quivering so violently I thought I would collapse onto the floor. "Hello, witch girl," the drummer boy purred, watching me with the eyes of a predator. Rhea was unable to focus on anything around her but the lady. The lady was saying something but for Rhea it felt like some random lips movement. She was scared out of her wits. Then suddenly everything went dead silent. The lady vanished. The whispers and the wind stopped. But then Rhea saw light imprints of blood on the glass door under the dusty layer. ************************************ This book basically contains short horror stories of my own imagination. They may be a bit creepy and weird but that's how the book goes. These stories are short but scary. I hope you'll enjoy them. It's my first book ever so please support it.

"Gladly." he mumbled against my face and then walked past me out of my room. It took me a minute to calm down my racing heartbeat. ... He was a mystery, an enigma I wanted to solve. He was exhausting, he was infuriating, yet staying away from him was not an option. He was making me feel things I haven't felt before. Adam McArdle!
