"Up," Miguel begins, "Down, Bottom, Top, Charm and Strange." Miguel looks at me when he says the last one. I couldn't believe it. Mr Thompson just wouldn't pick me. I knew the answer. I was raising my hand and he picked him? The new comer? I feel a tap on my shoulder, and I look back to see Miguel's face so close to mine. He is so close that I could feel his breath on my cheek. I lean back but the arm chair traps me, preventing me from getting any farther away from him. I hear the pencils on my desk bump against one another and my calculator. Great, he just made me ruin a perfectly aligned set of pencils. My hand tightens around the pencil that's still in my hand. Maybe I could poke this guy to death. He stares at me and I stare back. What's he looking at? "What are you looking at?" I ask him in a whisper, voicing my thoughts. He doesn't answer my question, until he casually replies, "You're weird." My jaw drops. Who does this boy think he is? *** All Jessardine wants is to be the Number One student for once. But because she has to juggle her homework with extracurricular activities, she finds it a difficult task. Especially if extracurricular activities include wrecking havoc in school with her crazy friends. And hunting for chocolate pudding. And stalking her celebrity crush. So when a new boy comes to school and steals the Number One spot, Jessardine starts to freak. What will she do if he steals something more than her dream ... Like her heart?

The King

"No." I stated. "They don't exist." His emerald eyes pierced into my soul, they seemed to be dissecting me. He had his arms wrapped around my waist, each passing second his grip was getting tighter and tighter. He started to lean in, closing the gap between us. His eyes never hesitating from my lips. He inched closer and closer until I could feel his minty breath now fanning out on my face. He licked his lips before looking into my own eyes again, and with a smirk he swooped his head down. I prepared for the kiss but it never came, he came in and swiped his head to the side. Rubbing his cheek with my own, the soft stubble scratching my skin and sending shockwaves down my spine as he moved to my ear. "You claim you don't believe in soulmates but, you so clearly feel the pull." #1 in love 12/5/2018 #1 in human 12/28/2018 #1 in comedy 1/17/2019 #1 in young adult 4/8/2019 #1 in cold 4/16/2019
