POP, POP. The dog squealed after he shot the large muscular beast. Headlights beamed into their direction, the car crashed into a Navy Blue Honda Accord, totaling both cars. Pieces of glass covered the streets everything was dizzy from the crash. Looking back to check on Rae, thankfully his nigga was still alive holding the bag of cash. Sirens could be heard they must be a few miles away. "Rae can you walk?" "Alil. Why?" "Get out of here. NOW" He shook his head starting a debate with me. "Naa Nigga, we in this together" "Get out of here and hide the stash before the cops show" We dabbed hands before he left lipping into the darkness. X needed to think fast he saw a lighter and set the car on fire to burn any possible evidence or blood from Rae. Sirens grew louder as the wild berries lights flashed from the corner. Before he could escaped the gray-eyed Pit-bull whimpered out of fear as the flames grew. Guilt took over him. Without hesitation X rushed over to pick up the Pit-bull and laid him down on the sidewalk. Paramedics rushed over asking if Xaryus was ok. He nodded and replied to take care of the driver in crash.

"My name's Elijah, by the way. It's nice to meet you, window-girl." She liked that name: Elijah. "I doubt you're even listening, but, look, I'm not here to cause problems, you know? I'm just here to chat. It can get lonely when we segregate ourselves into our own little world. I mean, maybe you like it in there," he continued, as she stared at the door separating them, "but, in case you don't, I'd like to offer my company." Instead of panicking, Liza could only focus on four words he'd said. 'Our own little world.' How had he known? She was in her own little world, consisting of her, her dog, the condo, and now, maybe . . .? Her voice was barely a croak when she spoke to him for the first time. "I'm listening." ***  A horribly tragedy left Liza Garner tucked inside her condo, the only safe place she knew, terrified of the outside world and the people within it. Especially men. A change in living brought Elijah Harris into a nice new neighborhood, and he'd never been afraid of knocking on others' doors and introducing himself. Especially if a pretty woman was on the other side. This is a story about mental health, the amazing impact certain individuals can have on one's personal journey, and how making progress-no matter how seemingly insignificant-is always impressive. *** PLEASE NOTE: Rated mature for language, topics, and detailed descriptions of gore.
