Naomi O'Brien was nothing other than your ordinary girl.
She loved jamming out to loud music in her room, getting all cozied up with a good book, and cuddling with her pup, Theo. She wasn't nerdy, but she was brilliant. She was different from what most of the girls at her school were like. She wasn't focused on getting a boyfriend or being the most popular girl in school. All she wanted was to go to Yale University, following in her dad's footsteps.

Mason Brenalds was a mystery to everyone.
He was almost always silent. No one knew when he moved into town, or why. He's got a bad attitude, snarky comments, and a sexy smirk. He doesn't have to try in school, but he still gets all A's. He doesn't aspire to be anything other than himself.

The first person Mason meets is Naomi. He notices how beautiful she is, and decides that she's his now. The only thing, is that Naomi doesn't know that she is his. So, when she goes on and starts talking to other guys, Mason makes sure she isn't confused about who she belongs to. However, Naomi doesn't like being treated like an item.
