Amalyne Vandermer had been teased and taunted about her weight and acne all her life then finally, after being humiliated in front of her whole high school, she had enough. For her senior year she transferred to a boarding school and changed everything about herself in exchange for new friends and a chance to be a popular girl for once.

Half way through the year everything was going fantastic for her. She had a new boyfriend, new clothes, and friends that follow her around everywhere listening to whatever she said. Life was good. Suddenly a surprise visit from her ex-best friend and four-year-old daughter blows everything out of the water.
