I was once a slave. Now I work for the Royal family as a guard for Elizabeth. The third princess of Liones. That's it. Nothing more to me. Nothing less. It's my job, though I haven't done too well in the past. But the king always forgave me. Even when he had no reason to.
Like when I was supposed to be watching Elizabeth, and she climbed a large tree. Causing the king to get hurt and become bed ridden. He forgave and offered to just let me live in the castle as one of the royal family. I declined. Simply because I had a family. Still do. But it would be weird to have a slave as a princess. Not to mention the dirty looks, and the whispers behind my back. I hear them all.
"Disloyal."
"Untrustworthy."
"Traitor."
"Liar."
"Cheat."
"Slave." That last one was probably the only thing these weirdos had right. I am a slave. I have marks where shackles should've been. And had been for a long time. Everything else was simply untrue.
