It's not fair. People keep telling me that "this is the only world we have", "you can't change where you are, Ailani", blah blah blah.
I don't care! I seriously do not understand why we have the pleasure of books but the tragedy when we find out that nothing in them could actually happen.
I want to live in a world where there are demons and I fight them, I want to be a demigod, I want to be part faerie, I want to be a mermaid but the harsh truth is, is that I can't be any of those things.

In this world mythical creatures like elves, fairies, dragons, and much more are like humans. A mermaid named Akahiko Momomiko is in her 2nd year of High School at Ishikawa High. When Akahiko was younger, she was bullied and made fun of for being a mermaid. Ever since then she's been insecure about being a mermaid and hides it from everyone, by being an outcast and non-social towards everyone. She's known as the "school loner". It was like that ever since she started High School. One day her whole life changes from the usual when a boy named Light Usakawa finds she's a mermaid in the most peculiar way. From there on a friendship blossoms and finding out about accepting the past, overcoming it, and the effects it took. Learning how to let people in and have friends and what boundaries are.
