Clara Wade is one of those famous deals. Richmond Wade, Clara's great-grandfather, made a deal with the alpha of the pack in the early 1900's. The next female born to a Wade male would be married off to one of the Alpha's direct bloodline. Clara just happened to be the unlucky draw.
