Fifteen

I was 14 when everything happened, when my life got flipped upside down. I was betrayed by the people that were supposed to protect me from everything. They would always think of themselves before me, I was only 4. At age five I learned how to take care of myself. Then there was when I turned 10, they decided that gambling and strippers were more important than me. They didn't come home until noon and they didn't sober up until 8, so for my tenth birthday I was bringing them water and Advil the whole day, I didn't get a special dinner, cake, not even one present. Now I know that that doesn't sound bad at all and that some kids have it worse than this but then I turned 15.
I hate that number, 15 why is it so bad? Why screw up 15. You are still an innocent child at 15... unless someone takes that from you. And at that time they were running out of money, they couldn't afford to gamble and drink nor could they hold a job form more than a week so they decide that I was old enough to provide for them. It was their friends first then it was people that they didn't even know but offered a ton more money than what they asked.
