Laine Saphir desired something every girl wants: a perfect relationship with a flawless partner. She always longed for her love life to be as aspiring and picture-perfect as those in love songs by various artists. She even made a list of them and hung them up on her wall.

What happens when a random stranger offers her a chance to fulfill her wish? All she has to do is to sign a contract signifying their specific terms. Laine only accepts in curiosity, and contemplates: what can go wrong? 

It turns out, everything can fall apart.

The stranger, who others call Ciel, warns Laine that there are conditions to their agreement. Every night, she'll have to lay in bed listening to her iPod on shuffle. Whichever song she falls asleep on will affect her next day. Little, naive Laine thought she could control it. She couldn't.
