It's the ancient tale of the Lenvor clan curse that torments every sixth generation of female from the Lenvor bloodline. Exactly what this curse entails can only time reveal, until then it's only fair to presume the absolute worst.

"I'm dead and you can't kill someone who is already dead." He laughed and looked at me as if I was already supposed to know such basic information.

"Then how are you breathing?" I asked and in the moment I was curious as to how he was functioning, so curious that I overlooked his exact statement.

"I don't understand." I truly didn't. How was he functioning like a regular human being if his heart wasn't working, or as he claimed wasn't there.

"You know that one quote, even death has a heart, that's not true." He snickered at what I only assumed was a joke. I pulled back my hand regretting touching him. Why did I allow myself to be in such a vulnerable position, he could easily take me down with the few inches I was standing apart from him.

"Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive.
