For years Ophelia has ruled her countries harmoniously, with no war of any kind her countries were finally at peace. Holding up her end of her promise to her nations, her nations held up theirs, to allow her to marry for love and not for alliances or power. Being granted such a luxury Ophelia returns to the place she spent most of her childhood holidays, none other than French court.

With Francis engaged to Mary, and Bash just being well Bash, it seems Ophelia doesn't fit in not to mention Mary's hostility towards her. Not liking being belittled by such a woman Ophelia is quickly reminded of who she is and the power she holds.

After neglecting her womanly needs and wants for so long Ophelia is determined to make up for lost time, making friends and enemies along the way Ophelia catches the eyes of many, one being Francis the other being Charles, not everyday when you have two royals falling at your feet.

Disclaimer: This book will not be following the plotline it may feature some plotline but it will not follow the show. I own none of these characters other than Ophelia and any supporting characters.

As Sutherland's new king, Emory Davercher faces countless challenges, but nothing as excruciating and frustrating as his mysterious, eccentric betrothed. *** When King Emory of Sutherland receives news that his betrothed is on her way to Sutherland, he sends her away before even laying eyes on the woman he has no intention of marrying. Months later, after a narrow escape from an assassination, he flees to his childhood home where he discovers a massive problem. Due to an unfortunate mishap, his betrothed has not left Sutherland. She's been in his secret estate all along. Grand Princess Florence Paulet of Gavaria and her cousin, Lucy, thinks her arrival in Sutherland will be easy. She doesn't expect that her betrothed, King Emory of Sutherland, will send her straight to an empty estate on an island where they fend for themselves for months. And when he finally shows up, he has the audacity to fool her by introducing himself as someone else. After having killed dozens of chickens with her bare hands to stay alive, and with lying as her ultimate weapon for survival since she left Gavaria, what else can an annoyed, blithe, and audacious Florence do? Of course, she has to return the favor and make him twice the fool. He thinks he's fooling her, and she finds fun knowing it's the other way around. As the harsh winter traps them in the estate, lies, little accidents, and undeniable attraction draw them together stronger than the snowstorm. But not as much as Florence's true reasons for leaving Gavaria, which are also making their way to Sutherland.

"I fear I still do not have a name to match the beauty before me." He began. "Must that always be the only thing you wish to know?" She sighed heavily, looking over to her right where the king and queen sat on their thrones, watching the couple with hopeful stares. Two fingers under her chin brought her attention back to him and despite the mask blocking her view of his brow, she could see the spark of fire in his eyes, "I have plenty of time to know you, my love." He smirked, "as I said, I tend to take the things I want." "You can not steal a woman." Katerina spoke confidently, "Her heart may be locked away." Prince Alexander lowered his lips to the shell of her ear, each syllable tickling her skin, "Tell me where to find it then." ~•~•~ After the death of the queen, the king, overcome by sadness, begins to lust after his own daughter who is an exact replica of her mother. He plans to marry her but she manages to stall the wedding long enough to be able to escape. After escaping from her home and her grotesquely deranged father with three dresses and a cloak made of every pelt in the royal forest, she is lost. Taking refuge in a hollow tree she doesn't realize she has wandered into another King's territory... Warning: When the story begins a disturbing theme of potential sexual assault is mentioned, but this is not the main or entire plot of the story. The main female lead is 20 years old and the main male lead is 22-25. It is not clearly outlined in the novel I don't think. This is based on a fairy tale.
