The word family means different things to different people. 

To Cohen McCreadie family use to symbolise hate, abuse, hurt, survival. But now that he had a family of his own it mean those very same things plus more. He wanted to put everything he didn't have growing up into his new found family. only problem was, technically it wasn't his family.

To Remelle Dunkley family meant sharing, but sharing also meant caring. She wanted to do the right thing, but how could you let someone walk so easily into your life, when they never fought while being dragged out of it.
