Brin's father gives her permission, since its summer break, to pack up the car and head to her family's camp, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She's decided to spend the whole summer there, take a break from school, her dad, the memories, everything she wishes to forget. She wants to be herself, a free spirit, she only wants to be independent. One night, Brin is woken by knocking, from then on, nothing has been the same, and it never will be.
