Mutants. That's what we are called. Humans with extraordinary abilities. Gifts that enable us perform feats beyond imagination. Powerful yet hidden from rest of the world. The government hides us from the normals. They say it's for the sake of the normals. They say it's to protect them.

My name is Ruby Sinx. I'm a sixteen year old girl from Australia and I am a mutant. A telepath.

But
I am no ordinary mutant. I am a complete one. This means I have every power obtainable in my selection. You must be confused but I will make everything clear to you.

A powerful mutant wants to destroy the world again. He can't be stopped by anyone. But when special mutants come together to defeat him it might lead to the greatest battle in man's history. But you can't hide that from the normals easily.

Should the knowledge of mutants still be kept in abeyance?

(This is book 3 of the P.O.E. Chronicles, Read book 1 Evolution and book 2 Selection if you haven't already) I never wanted a war. All I wanted to do was to get things back to the way they were and to keep those I love safe. But it turns out that everything was just an illusion, that the reality I lived in was all but a lie. That world was no place to live, and in order to make a better future, a future that so many have sacrificed so much to try and archive before me, I had to fight. And to do that I needed to find out the truth, no matter what horrors lie beneath it. The web of lies, of secrecy, of betrayal, is spun so far, so fine, so wide that I had been seeing only a corner of it. I didn't know if I have the strength to go on, but I know that if I don't step up, the world as we have known it will end. If you asked her four years ago what she imagined herself doing in the future, Abigail Beckett could safely tell you that it doesn't involve political meetings, living in an ancient castle and seeking advice from a three hundred years old Original. Having discovered her roots, she had inherited the responsibility to make sure the world doesn't end by the terrorist group Apocalypse and make peace among POE and Legres. With the fate of many of her friends still uncertain, she must race against time to uncover the Apocalypse's plan, pacify the government, and tried not to get killed by her grandmother. "They took my sister. Now I'm taking her back." Seventeen years ago, humans started developing supernatural abilities. Comic books came true as the first person flew, created fire, mind-read. The world entered a new age where people who could do special things were revered and admired. That all changed when one man lost control of his power and unleashed a huge explosion in a crowded shopping centre, killing over a thousand others. A series of fights involving superhumans broke out, resulting in the destruction of multiple cities and hundreds upon hundreds of further lives lost. The government began hunting down those extraordinary people with the assistance of a specialised unit: trained in recognising different abilities. Suddenly powers became something scary, uncontrollable and dangerous, that nobody wanted to own up to having. Seventeen years after the Explosion, Amelie Rose Carmichael is the daughter of the man who is in charge of hunting down and imprisoning these people. She enjoys a comfortable life, protected from any threats against her. But when Amelie develops an ability without warning, she must try to keep it hidden from her family, her friends, and above all her father. Can she keep a secret? Will she use her powers to help the rebel organisation that has approached her? And what secrets are the people around her hiding?
