Let me tell you reader of a certain group of people who are different: people who's lives are drastically altered by who- or should I say What- they are. They are known as the Altered. They are not like us. They posses strange and amazing powers: each different and individual in incredible ways.
Now it must be told that just like everyone who ever walked this earth, they too have a choice between good and evil... not all of them will choose to do what's right.
This is one tale of a certain few Altered who are faced with similar circumstances as we face everyday; some will do the right things, others will do the wrong things, and still others will just 'stand on the bridge', and figure out which side they will choose before the end.
They are Those Whose Lives Are Altered.

What makes a person a hero? A good hero can be hard to find. A hero is selfless, a genuinely good person and someone gets the undivided attention of all of us and causes change. Someone willing to risk their own life to save another. Well if that's a hero. Then I'm more of a hero then they are. A third generation of ability users. What does it mean to be a hero or a villain. Black and white. What about those who are neither of them. Gray. Alice and Asher, two ability users striving to be heroes. Or are they? In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. Arav Tarak, 17 year old kid, kid with not much of a social life except for his two friends and one that would rather sit at home playing games and read books than going at parties. Someone wouldn't leave much of an impression in your mind. That is, until the era of demi-humans came forth. A world-wide phenomenon gave birth to Grimoire and power in humans, who were later termed 'Grimors'. One of those grimors was Lucifer. Will Amar use his abilities to help people? Will he use his ability to become a beacon of hope? Or would this new life give him nothing but sour and back-stabbing aftertaste?
