It has been over a year since the crisis in Hoenn was stopped and Steven and Sapphire have been traveling to other regions together ever since. Meanwhile, back in Hoenn, trainers and Pokemon have been disappearing, including Ruby, Wally, and even Blaise. Once the two trainers find out, they return to Hoenn only for Sapphire to get captured herself! Now Courtney and Steven must team up to rescue Sapphire. Afterwards they must find out where this mysterious group is holding all of the other trainers captive, and only Zinnia knows where they are; however, Courtney has to pay her in return: an old diary. But, they only have a matter of time because Blaise's life is in danger, and they also must find the leader of this group: Minoru. Does this group have a connection with Team Plasma in the far off Unova region?

Flame is a mysterious stranger who happened to come out of nowhere, but the two felt instantly comfortable in front of one another as soon as they met. There was a connection they couldn't understand, and Flame was determined to keep her away from harm, but at a distance. Secrets will be revealed and memories will be remembered. There are important key elements to discovering a new meaning to what happened to them in their childhood. Now, Professor Juniper has come back from her journey of assisting the new champion to an eager young girl, one whose Pokemon journey was put off for years by the events, Riley. And the minute the professor returns she's out the door. As her journey begins, Riley meets a young boy who's labeled himself as a failure, but refuses to accept her help or convenience her with respect. They reluctantly travel together and Riley becomes aware of a name being used to refer to her: Champion, though she hasn't won any gym badges or done anything special. Meanwhile, in the shadows, Team Plasma reorganizes, gaining strength under corrupt Sages and officers and led by Ghetsis. The team preaches a new direction, but the same motives added to a more "direct" and violent approach. It searches for objects it's lost and powerful members who've fled; all the while planning a destructive and unstoppable endgame, eventually crossing paths with Riley. The new trainer sees Team Plasma's vile actions and builds up a hatred for it, becoming determined to stop them whenever they meet while continuing THE JOURNEY OF A CHAMPION. She's a bounty hunter, hacker, frighteningly strong Trainer and most importantly, she can see the auras of Shadow Pokémon - which may well be necessary if Team Plasma and Cipher really are working together.
