The Thing in the Trees

Author's note: this is a really clichéd short story but I wrote it because I wrote a similar one for coursework once and I wanted to re-write it, but better. This is my first upload to wattpad so hope you like it. :)

It starts out as a day like no other; she decides to go out alone for an early evening drive, alone, before the sun sets. It all seems nice until her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere next to a roadside forest. When it starts to get dark and a storm starts brewing she decides it's time to figure out what to do next. Then she hears it, a strange, eerie noise coming from deep within the trees. She knows she has to run from it. She doesn't know where she is or how far she is from any sort of civilisation, but she does know she has to keep on running from it- what ever 'it' is. Will she survive the night? Or will the thing in the trees catch up with her?
