Although Humans are believed to be the ones who are more intelligent than the other beings living on earth. There are those who are too Soulless to think of themselves as humans. They detest the way of the human beings. Thus they begin to control these humans using them as their puppets. But when word got out about these Soulles beings and was known that there were more than they expected.
To figure out whos the supreme King or Queen they created The War, the competion between These Soulless People went on for ages.

She was kept alive but not for pleasant reasons as the alpha of the murderous pack, Alpha Dominic decided to keep her as a punching bag for his anger. She becomes malnourished, weak and mute. After about 2 and a half years of dealing with this Alpha Dominic someone whisks her away again as her second mate as she was rejected before. They have their ups and downs but nothing is compared to what they have in stored, the new roller coaster they must ride to have a happily ever after, if you can call it that. I know the book starts slow, that's how I wanted it to be, to build to the exciting parts. It may be a drag, I know but it'll be worth it when the book speeds up with the roller coaster that Harmony has to ride, so to speak. Give it time and it'll spike your interest.
